They are introduced by the regulation of the Minister for Development and Technology of May 9, 2024 amending the regulation on the technical conditions to be met by buildings and their location (Official Gazette of May 14, 2024, item 726).

Art is changed. 4th and art. 9th of the Law of July 28, 2023 that amends the Civil Code and some other laws (Official Gazette of August 14, 2023, item 1,615).

The National Tax Administration has issued an interpretation regarding the use of company telephones and the collection of IRS advances.

KAS stated that the entrepreneur who sent it the query does not have to charge advance IRS payments if he provides employees with company smartphones and routers (the latter is important, as it also allows them to make calls via the Internet), which they use for private purposes, – reports the ISBnews agency. “The criterion to be used to determine the real situation is whether such free benefit constitutes the employee’s income, obtains a financial benefit from him or avoids an expense,” the interpretation reads.

August 15 is the six-month deadline within which many entities are supposed to implement standards for the protection of minors. These are new requirements, including for schools and kindergartens, sports clubs, non-governmental organizations and medical facilities. They are introduced by the so-called Kamilek Act, i.e. an amendment to the Family and Guardianship Code and some other laws. The tragic story of eight-year-old Kamil from Częstochowa, who died as a result of domestic violence, prompted decision-makers to adopt new solutions. The Kamilek Act came into partial force on February 15, 2024, however, giving many institutions and facilities where children stay or may stay, half a year to implement the so-called standards for the protection of minors.

– In the second quarter of 2024, the number of supplier changes decreased significantly (by more than 10.7 thousand) compared to the first quarter of this year, which is particularly noticeable in the case of customers of tariff groups A, B and C. At the same time, it is clearly higher (by more than 3.8 thousand) than the number of supplier changes in the second quarter of 2023, which was also noticeable in the first quarters of 2023 and 2024 – the Energy Regulatory Office said in a statement. Since 2007, when the possibility of changing electricity suppliers was introduced in Poland, more than a million customers have decided to take this step.

The Council of Ministers approved this week a bill that introduces, from January 1, 2025, the possibility for entrepreneurs to opt for the method of settling revenues and costs for tax purposes in cash, that is, the so-called PIT money.

Entrepreneurs who choose the cash method will report income only when they receive money from the contractor. And the cost when they pay for purchases. But be careful – we will not avoid taxes anyway, because after two years (or in case of liquidation of the business) the income will have to be declared. Even if the contractor has not yet paid us. Therefore, the cash principle does not mean exemption from IRS, only its postponement.
