Polish foreign trade is declining. In the first seven months of 2024, both exports and imports decreased, but the balance of trade in goods with the outside world was positive.
In the period from January to July 2024, exports expressed in euros amounted to 202.4 billion euros and were 2.5% higher than last year, the Central Statistical Office announced in a statement on Friday. Imports decreased slightly – by 0.9%. to 198.6 billion euros. As a result, the surplus amounted to 3.8 billion euros. However, this is a weaker result than that achieved at the same time last year, when the surplus was almost double and amounted to 7.2 billion euros.
The increase in the amounts of civil liability insurance and the clarification of the terms “traffic” or “multi-purpose vehicle” are new developments that will improve the situation of accident victims and the search for compensation. These changes are included in the amendment to the Law on Compulsory Insurance and Insurance and Reinsurance Activities, adopted on Friday. It is intended to implement the EU directive on civil liability insurance for damage resulting from the use of motor vehicles and the application of such civil liability insurance.
