Andrzej Duda signed the amendment to the Law on Copyright and Related Rights, the Chancellery of the President of the Republic of Poland reported. The amendment implements the directives of the European Parliament and of the Council (EU) of 17 April 2019 into the Polish legal system. The law regulates issues related, among others: to the unification of licensing rules for retransmission and distribution services of radio and television programmes provided by direct introduction.
Sebastian Mikosz, chairman of Poczta Polska, announced this on TVN24. The notifications concern negligence and diversion of funds “to the wrong place”. – Very strange decisions that external companies will investigate for us. I must admit that the Supreme Audit Office also visits us regularly, the PP chairman said. Any request to the Prosecutor’s Office is a matter of weeks.”
– The balance of foreign currency funds at the disposal of the Ministry of Finance at the end of July this year amounted to a total of PLN 52.63 billion, the ministry reported. A month earlier, it was PLN 74.1 billion.
The bonus for referring a good candidate to the company is not income from the employment relationship, but from so-called other sources – as interpreted by the tax authorities. This qualification has a positive impact on the settlement rules. The Tax Office confirmed that the bonuses are income from so-called other sources (according to Article 10.1, point 9, and Article 20.1 of the Personal Income Tax Act). – The employee will report this income in the annual income tax return and only then will pay tax according to the table. The employer is not obliged to charge an advance payment of PIT – the employer’s only obligation is to send PIT-11 information to employees and the tax office.
The most important change is the inclusion in the Internal Defense Law of provisions allowing the use of the Armed Forces in peacetime when the security of the state is threatened. It is accompanied by the so-called legal counter-type of the state of emergency. New provision of art. 25a of the Criminal Code provides that anyone who uses weapons for official purposes or gives orders to use them, even in violation of the principles of the use of direct coercive measures, is not subject to punishment. This also applies to a situation where a soldier or officer uses a weapon after calling on a suspicious person to abandon the weapon, explosive or “other dangerous item”.
Core inflation excluding food and energy prices amounted to 3.8 percent in July 2024 on a year-on-year basis, compared with 3.6 percent in the previous month, the National Bank of Poland (NBP) reported. Excluding administered prices (subject to state control), inflation reached 2.8 percent year-on-year compared with 2.5 percent a month earlier.
The IPC index in the period analyzed was 4.2%.
