Caitlin Clark sparks serious injury fears by screaming in agony after spraining her ankle on the field

Fear struck Indiana Fever fans during Monday night’s game when guard and Rookie of the Year Caitlin Clark was injured.

While trying to defend against the Atlanta Dream, Clark appeared to roll her ankle after tangling with Atlanta’s Nia Coffey.

Clark went down and screamed in pain as he hit the ground after the play was blown to death so the training staff could check on him.

Eventually the coaches helped him to his feet as he left the game to take care of himself.

The reaction on social media was swift when he went down – many wished him well.

Barstool Sports founder and president Dave Portnoy tweeted “I can’t breathe” with a photo of Clark grabbing his ankle.

‘Hopefully he’ll be fine tomorrow. What a warrior he is, another tweeted.

Eventually, however, Clark returned to the game — much to the delight of all the fans watching at home and at State Farm Arena.

Clark finished the night with 19 points, seven rebounds, seven assists and two steals as the Heat downed the Dream 84-79.

Kelsey Mitchell led Indiana with 29 points and seven rebounds, while Aliyah Boston had a double-double of 14 points and 11 boards.
