The brother and sister of the 15-year-old Brazilian teenager who died following an Israeli airstrike in Lebanon, Ali Kamal Abdallah, were on their way to Brazil and boarded a commercial flight leaving Beirut on Wednesday (25/9).
They are expected to land in Brazil this Thursday (26/9). Ali Kamal and his father died on Wednesday after a rocket hit the Lebanese town of Kelya, in an Israeli attack on the Hezbollah group. The attack killed 500 people and injured more than 1,800.
According to information from Itamaraty, the airport in the Lebanese capital is open to anyone who wants to leave the conflict zone and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is trying to find citizens who need Brazil’s help to do so.
Furthermore, Itamaraty is monitoring the situation in case there is a decline in cases following increasing violence in the conflict.
Who are the victims?
Ali Kamal Abdallah is from Foz do Iguaçu (PR) and his father, Kamal Hussein Abdallah, aged 64, is a Lebanese born in Paraguay.
Hanan Abdallah, the boy’s sister, blamed Israel for the teenager’s death. “Angels killed by Israel,” he wrote on social media.
