With record attendance and prize money, the 2024 edition of the Neoenergia Feminino Brasileirão ended this Sunday (22), after Corinthians won their sixth national title. The Parque São Jorge team beat São Paulo 2-0. At the Neo Química Arena, the crowd of 44,136 people set a new record among clubs in South America. And the host team guaranteed R$ 1.5 million, a historic prize for the competition. The runners-up, São Paulo, will receive R$ 750,000.
“Women’s football is more than that. I talk about the prize pool, which is always increasing, but my greatest satisfaction is to increase investment linearly in all women’s football, throughout Brazil, providing more competitions and dignified conditions, so that these athletes can play football. Not only the athletes, but the referees, the physiotherapists, the doctors, in short, the entire chain that represents women’s football”, said CBF president Ednaldo Rodrigues.
In total, to strengthen the competition, the CBF disbursed R$25 million, divided between transportation and logistics costs for delegations, anti-doping tests and the large sums disbursed to teams in the first phase and each classification. To participate in the Brasileirão Neoenergia, each club received R$300,000. A place in the quarterfinals was guaranteed R$100,000.
