According to Aziz, the study was conducted by the Central Bank, which analyzed data from 56 betting sites. Through the survey, figures were obtained that reveal how families in Brazil spend their social security money.
From January to August, these bettors spent more than R$11 billion on pix, in addition to paying by credit card or other methods.
On that occasion, the senator also criticized influencers who promote the betting house, without caring about the needs of the beneficiaries.
“You see idols, influencers, persuading the most humble and poor people, because the person who receives the Bolsa Família is poor. And his money is barely enough to eat, but he tries his luck because he is influenced by someone,” he said.
According to the senator, there have been talks with the Attorney General of the Republic, in which the report containing the “horrific” figures has been approved.
