Francisco Andrade Garcia, 20 years old, known as “Bolinho”, was arrested this Wednesday (25), for illegal possession of firearms. The arrest took place on the outskirts of the municipality of Benjamin Constant, in the interior of Amazonas.

According to delegate Mayara Magna, from DIP 51, the investigation team began investigating after a report of a suspicious man at the location. The complaint stated that the young man was carrying a tote bag that was deformed due to its weight.

“We went to the location and found Francisco with the reported characteristics. During a search of the trunk, we found a 16-caliber rifle and a notebook with financial records, probably from drug trafficking,” the delegation said.

According to the delegation, when questioned, the man stated that he took the weapons from Iceland, Peru, to hand them over to another man, whose identity is still unknown, in Benjamin Constant. Investigations will continue to determine the fate of the weapons.

Francisco Andrade will be charged with illegal possession of firearms and is under the responsibility of the Court.
