The European looked to be in control when she broke again in the opening game of the second set and served for a 4-2 lead. But Bia Haddad reacted.
The Brazilian raised her game, adjusting the ball to the line and managing two breaks to take the final to a third set, where Kasatkina (who has lost four of the five finals she has played this year) collapsed and was no longer able to face Bia Haddad.
This is the Brazilian’s first title of the season and the fourth of his career, after Zhuhai (China) in 2023 and Birmingham and Nottingham in 2022.
