War.- The Guerrero Comprehensive Risk Management and Civil Protection Secretariat reported the formation of tropical depression Diez-E in the South Pacific.
As of 3:30 p.m., the center of the tropical cyclone was 265 km southwest of Lagunas de Chacahua, Oaxaca, and 280 km south of Punta Maldonado, Guerrero.
The tropical depression has maximum sustained winds of 55 km/h and gusts of 75 km/h. “Its broad circulation in interaction with the monsoon trough will produce timely heavy rains (75 to 150 mm) several meters high on the coasts of Guerrero, Oaxaca and Chiapas,” the forecast said.
The state agency indicated that the watch zone was established due to the impact of the tropical storm from Punta Maldonado to Salina Cruz, Oaxaca.
He added that the system is expected to produce heavy to heavy rain starting tomorrow and throughout the week, with the risk of accumulating the same amount of rain throughout the month. “Which can cause landslides, floods, rising river and water levels, and overflowing and flooding in low-lying areas,” he warned. He also gave an example, in the next 7 days there could be a Tropical Storm or Hurricane.
