On August 16, at a security meeting in Minsk, members of the Belarusian authorities shared their concerns about the country’s southern border.
Ukrainian special forces near the border with Belarus?
-The situation in the southern operational direction remains tense. The formations of the Armed Forces and the Border Service of Ukraine continue to improve the border protection system and echeloned defense elements. Active activity of units of the special operations forces and the Security Service of Ukraine was recorded in all sections along the state border of the Republic of Belarus, – said the head of the Defense Ministry.
According to Khrenin, Ukraine regularly carries out intelligence activities using unmanned aircraft that often attempt to violate airspace Belarus.
The minister expressed concern that, given the presence of Ukrainian armed formations in the border regions, there is a high risk of preparation and carrying out armed provocations on the territory of Belarus. Khrenin also pointed out the possibility of taking resonance actions, including with the participation of Belarusian nationalist formations, which would further increase the level of threat. So far, the Ukrainian side has not commented on the words of the regime politician.
