The Bahia Art Museum, in Salvador, presents the exhibition “O Jardim de Luís Dias” this Thursday (26), the work of the artist Paulo Coqueiro. The exhibition, which runs until December 1, aims to establish a connection between the past and present of the Bahian capital through a dialogue with bibliographic pieces from the MAB collection. The exhibition is curated by Isabel Gouvêa, with critical text written by Priscila Miraz.
The exhibition critiques Salvador’s urban landscape, highlighting the city’s fragmentation and structural contrasts. In addition, the film explores the Portuguese colonial legacy and the consequences of social and spatial segregation in the city. Luís Dias, considered the first Brazilian architect, is remembered as the master builder responsible for realizing the city’s urbanization plan.
The Bahia Art Museum is located in Corredor da Vitória and is open from Tuesday to Sunday, from 10am to 6pm.
