Shopping on August 15th – which stores will be open?
This Thursday, August 15, we celebrate the Day of the Polish Army and the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary. It is a legal day off from professional hardships and toils. Therefore, business restrictions will be imposed. Shops and shopping centers will be closed by law. However, this ban does not apply to certain types of activities, so they will remain open: gas stations, flower shops, as well as catering establishments – cafes and pastry shops. You can also shop at smaller stores and chains, such as Żabka, Odido, Carrefour Express or ABC. These establishments are usually open on Sundays and public holidays from 10:00 to 18:00, and sometimes until 20:00.
Shopping on August 16th – will stores and malls be open?
While many of us rest on Friday, we should remember that it is not a holiday. Next Friday is a weekday, so there is no need to worry about your shopping being limited. On Friday, August 16, 2024, stores and shopping centers will be open during normal hours.
Shopping August 17th – shopping on Saturday
On Saturday, the long weekend in August, trading will take place without any legal restrictions. Therefore, we will make purchases without any problems. On Saturday, August 17, 2024, stores and malls will be open during normal hours. However, you should remember the applicable Saturday opening hours of individual outlets.
Shopping on August 18th – will it be shopping Sunday?
Unfortunately, we will not be doing any major shopping on Sunday, which ends the August long weekend. Commercial restrictions will still apply. Sunday, August 18, 2024, is a non-trading Sunday. Therefore, stores and malls will be legally closed on that day.

The opening hours for shops and shopping malls over the August long weekend are as follows:
