Ripple has made an important announcement for XRP Ledger (XRPL) developers via a tweet on X. RippleX has announced plans for a testnet reset, scheduled for August 19, 2024 at 3:00 AM EST.

Ripple operates the testnet and devnet to allow the community to test new features and integrations without risking actual funds. The testnets are centralized, unlike the production XRP Ledger (mainnet).
The testnet is intended to mimic the change state of the mainnet as closely as possible, while the devnet serves as a preview of proposed and future features based on the development branch of the source code.
Ripple explores long-term solutions
RippleX stated that resets improve the stability of the Testnet and reduce the cost of running a Testnet node. They also stated that they would provide updates once the whole thing was complete.
RippleX also noted: “We are also exploring long-term solutions to improve Testnet resilience and ensure the community is prepared, including restricting access to Testnet XRP to reduce network stress, adding additional safeguards to protect Testnet, and establishing a regular schedule for Testnet resets.”
Furthermore, it was reminded that in addition to this testnet, XRPL community members are encouraged to create and manage additional testnets to meet diverse testing and development needs.
XRP Whales Start Accumulation Trend!
XRP has started to shed losses from the recent crypto crash. Whales are also supporting the price rebound and have started a strong accumulation trend for the coin.
