Atairos invests another 50 million euros in Aston Villa and increased its stake in the English club to 31.1%. The money will be used for infrastructure and development of the team from Birmingham

The North American company, which was already a minority investor in premier league, also became a minority shareholder in V Sports, the holding company jointly owned by the club’s owners, Nassef Sawiris and Wes Edens.

AV Sports, which covers a network of clubs such as Portugal’s Vitória de Guimarães in addition to having partners in Spain, Japan and Egypt, remains the owner of Aston Villa, with businessmen Sawiris and Edens individually holding 34.4% of the shares.

With the new investment, Atairos increases its stake from 26.5% to 31.1%, valuing the North American company’s capital at US$8.5 billion (about R$48 billion).
