Former California governor and Hollywood star Arnold Schwarzenegger (77) received an honorary doctorate in Berlin. The “Terminator” star appeared in person at the award ceremony held at the private Hertie school on September 17. The congratulatory address was given by Robert Harbeck (55), a Green Party politician and Deputy Prime Minister.

Schwarzenegger received his doctorate for his “commitment to environmental stewardship, civic engagement, and innovative politics,” university President Cornelia Woll said at the event. As governor of California, Schwarzenegger has been particularly committed to reducing greenhouse gas emissions and expanding renewable energy, and has long been committed to fighting climate change.
Habeck, who received praise for his speech, was impressed by how the politician Schwarzenegger integrated “climate considerations into economic policy.” The man, who received a great compliment, thanked him for his role and explained, “People need a vision and a goal. He served as the Governor of California from 2003 to 2011.
