Anushka Sharma has been living the best life with her husband Virat Kohli and their kids Vamika Kohli and Akay Kohli in London. Anushka, who is currently in Mumbai for the event, opened up about parenthood, revealing that she and Virat Kohli personally prepare home-cooked meals to pass on their family’s traditional recipes to the next generation. Speaking at the event, Anushka said, “We had a discussion at home that if we don’t make our mother’s dishes at home, we won’t pass on these recipes to our children. So sometimes I cook and sometimes my husband cooks and we really try to replicate our mother’s way. I cheat a little by calling my mom to ask for recipes, but it’s so important. It feels like you are passing on something valuable to your children.”
Anushka also laughingly mentioned how she still needs her mother’s help when experimenting with age-old recipes. The actor added that he stresses on following Vamika and Akay’s routine even though he is busy with travelling. Anushka Sharma elaborated on the matter: “I’m very particular about routines. We travel a lot as a family and my kids go through a lot of changes in their lives. So by creating a routine for them, I give them a sense of control. Mealtimes are fixed – no matter where we are, we eat at the same time and sleep at the same time. It helps them regulate themselves much better.”
Anushka Sharma has a strong desire for home cooking. Interacting with ANI at the event, the actor revealed his comfort food when he is not feeling well. She said: “All my mum did when we were growing up was comfort food. One thing I always go back to and when I’m not feeling well, which is an instant takeaway, is dal chawal and sukhi aloo ki sabzi – all in one plate. Love it.” Look:
