The 80th birthday party of former Czech president Milos Zeman, organized on Saturday, was attended by, among others: the presidents of Poland, Serbia and Slovakia – Andrzej Duda, Aleksandar Vucic and Petr Pellegrini, as well as the heads of the governments of Hungary and Slovakia, Viktor Orbán and Robert Fico.

Czech politicians were also present – former President Vaclav Klaus, representatives of the current opposition linked to former Prime Minister Andrej Babiš’s ANO party, and PRO party leader Jindrich Rajśl.

Deputy Foreign Minister Wladyslaw Teofil Bartoszewski informed Polsat News that the president was advised not to appear at the ceremony as the invited guests have a position on the war in Ukraine that conflicts with the Polish position.

Marcin Mastaleric: There were no consultations with the Foreign Ministry

– We advised against that. “I advise the president to choose a different option for friends,” Foreign Ministry head Radoslaw Sikorski said in an interview with TOK FM. – I think the president already regrets it, and perhaps it will not build his power. He added that in the United States, the president was concerned with and sought to achieve interests in fighting Ukraine, but here he meets people who have a different opinion.

As for the Chief of Staff of the President of the Republic of Poland, Marcin Mastalerick, he has a different opinion. On Monday evening, on TVN24, he said that Andrzej Duda did not regret his decision.
