Russian dictator Vladimir Putin claims that the Russian Armed Forces will receive around 140,000 drones of various types by 2023. This year, they are supposedly planning to increase their production tenfold.
The dictator made this statement at a meeting of the Military-Industrial Commission of the Russian Federation on the development of special-purpose unmanned aerial systems, the Russian propaganda agency Interfax reports.
«“This year, the production of drones is expected to increase significantly, or, to be more precise, almost tenfold. The range of unmanned systems is expanding and unmanned ships are being created,” Putin said.
He said that the key task of the Russian Federation is to “produce a wide range of unmanned aerial vehicles” and to establish their mass production as quickly as possible. «promising technology.”
The dictator also stated that simultaneously with the development of drones it is necessary «seek means to destroy them electronically and by fire.”
Forbes previously reported that Russia is capable of producing 42 to 56 ballistic missiles and 90 to 115 long-range cruise missiles per month, despite sanctions imposed by the West.
At the same time, the production rate of Shahed-136 drones in the Russian Federation is more than 500 units per month, which costs about $100 million.
