New Delhi:
Ahead of Raksha Bandha, actress Bhumi Pednekar and her sister Samiksha spoke about the sibling bond shared by the two siblings. Speaking to Hindustan Times, Samiksha, who is also a content producer, said, “Growing up, Bhumi was always like this idol for me. I wanted to do what she did and would follow her during school. She is perhaps the only person I have looked up to growing up, she is my north star and still has it.
The siblings also revealed that they are each other’s problem solvers. “Bhumi has been my sounding board for everything. So if I’m ever stuck anywhere, he has to solve the problem. I don’t know how, but he always somehow magically comes up with a solution. She is my favorite agony aunt. Whenever I don’t feel perfect, I listen to his voice more than the voice in my head. On my hard days, a lot of my self-love comes from him, Samiksha said. Bhumi added to this, “I am very impulsive and Samiksha is much more rational than me. In our fraternity even the smallest things can affect my sanity but Samiksha thinks I am sane.”
They also shared their Raksha Bandhan memories. Bhumi said, “Whenever we were little, our mother made us tie rakhis to each other. So for us, Raksha Bandhan is not gender-bound. It’s about two sisters supporting, protecting and being there for each other. Samiksha and I, in the truest way, personify it.”
On the work front, Bhumi Pednekar will next be seen in The Royals alongside Ishaan Khatter, Zeenat Aman and others.
