Following the success of Wrexham’s management and the acquisition of a minority stake in Nexaca, Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney are considering investing in another sport, cricket.
According to Sport Industry Group, the actors are considering acquiring a stake in Welsh Fire, a franchise in the city of Cardiff.
The pair’s interest comes after the team owners announced they intended to raise around £500m by selling a 49% stake in their eight franchises participating in The Hundred, a cricket tournament in Wales.
The actors have become prominent figures in Welsh sport over the past three years, fostering success as owners of Wrexham.
Under the duo’s management, the Welsh club achieved back-to-back promotions, which took the team back to the third tier of English football (the Onde League) for the first time in 19 years.
