Buses have stopped running in the Uruguay neighborhood in El Salvador since Saturday, the 28th, due to a murder that occurred in the area. According to the Mobility Secretariat (Semob), service will be restored as soon as safety conditions allow.

Buses serving the area are diverted via Maris and Camino de Areia, and do not serve the end of the line in the neighborhood.

The military police stated that police reinforcements are continuing in the area until transport movement resumes.

Remember the case

A military police operation, in the Uruguay neighborhood of El Salvador, last Friday, 27, resulted in the death of a suspect. According to police, they were greeted with gunfire upon their arrival in the area.

The suspect was rescued and taken to Ernesto Simoes Hospital, but he did not survive his injuries.

On Saturday the 28th, residents held a demonstration, setting fire to garbage and tires, on Avenida Afranio Peixoto, also known as Suburbana, near Santa Luzia do Lobato.
