Following recent meetings with ministers from the STF and STJ (High Courts), President Lula plans to meet with ministers from other high courts in Brasília.
In the column, the PT member is holding a meeting with ministers from the High Labor Court (TST). The agenda will take place after Lula’s visit to the UN, in New York.
Allies say the meetings are part of the president’s strategy to maintain good relations with the judiciary, to offset his difficulties with the legislature.
On September 7, Lula received STF priests at a barbecue at the Palácio da Alvorada. On Wednesday (September 18), he met with STJ members at the Granja do Torto, the Presidential residence.
Lula now rules out meeting with TSE
For now, presidential aides have ruled out a meeting between PT members and ministers from the High Electoral Court (TSE). They say the current meeting will not go well, given the mayoral election.
