A cruise ship has left the port of Belfast, Northern Ireland, after an emergency stop for several months. “Villa Vie Odyssey” is scheduled to travel around the world for three years, the British news agency PA reported. The journey began on Tuesday night, four months late after repair work.
According to The Guardian, most of the passengers come from the United States of America. Some arrived in May and were then stranded in Belfast. The newspaper wrote that they found other accommodation or decided to use the time to travel.
The ship’s cruise is advertised as a continuous cruise. Travelers can rent cabins for a specific period of time or purchase them outright. For example, purchase prices of 120,000 or 350,000 USD are mentioned on the website (110,000/315,000 EUR).
While waiting in Belfast, two passengers approached, the PA news agency reported: a man from Canada and a woman from the United States who had gotten to know each other better in the past few months and were now engaged.
