A state of natural disaster introduced “in connection with the September 2024 flood in the southwestern part of the territory of the Republic of Poland in order to prevent its effects and eliminate them.” The regulation was introduced for 30 days after the date of announcement of the regulation. This means that it will be valid until October 16 inclusive.
Where is the state of emergency in effect?
IN Lower Silesian Voivodeship valid in the following counties: Kamienna Góra, Karkonosze, Kłodzko, Lwówek, Wałbrzych and Ząbkowice, as well as cities with county rights – in Wałbrzych and Jelenia Góra. In the Opole Voivodeship, it covers the following counties: Głubczyce, Nysa and Prudnik, as well as the municipality of Strzeleczki in Krapkowice County. In the Silesian Voivodeship, these are the counties of Bielsko, Cieszyn, Pszczyna and Racibórz, as well as the city with county rights of Bielsko-Biała.
What does the regulation mean?
The regulation establishes that during its validity state of natural disaster restrictions on human and citizen freedoms and rights are permitted: the obligation to empty or secure residential premises or other rooms; an order to evacuate specific places, areas and premises at a specified time; an order or prohibition to stay in certain places and premises and in certain areas; as well as an order or prohibition of a specific method of movement.
The regulation comes into force on the day of its announcement.
