A pregnant woman was stabbed to death on Thursday (26), in Gravatal, south of Santa Catarina. Identified as Isabel Cristina Fernandes Martins, aged 34, the dentist was visiting her mother when she was murdered by her own brother.
Based on the investigation into the case, the crime was motivated by a struggle for inheritance between brothers. After committing the murder, the victim’s brother fled into the bushes and has not yet been found. Agents from the 35th Military Police Battalion and Civilian Police began searching the area.

After the attack, firefighters were called, but the woman was already dead. The dentist suffered multiple knife wounds.
Isabel’s funeral took place this Friday (27), in Capivari de Baixo, a municipality also located in the state of Santa Catarina. Investigations are continuing to find and arrest the suspect.
