The 42-year-old international referee has not been appointed to officiate football matches since April 1. According to information obtained and disclosed by sport.pl, the reason for this state of affairs is the accusations of the Public Prosecutor’s Office against Krzysztof J., and they are shocking.
Krzysztof J. abused his concubine
According to sport.pl, the Public Prosecutor’s Office accuses the referee of abusing his concubine, including football referees. Krzysztof J. confessed to the crimes he was accused of and the description is macabre.
Krzysztof J. was charged with mentally and physically abusing PB’s concubine from December 2023 to March 18, 2024 in Chełmno, insulting her with words generally considered offensive, humiliating and ridiculing her, undermining her femininity and making threats that took her life and ruined her. He, in his opinion among the judges, suggested suicide, beat her body with his fists, crushed her nose, stomped on her feet, pressed her against furniture, pulled out her hair, twisted her arms and legs at the joints, kicked her body, pressed her with his knee, bit her, pinched her, pulled her breasts and suffocated her, causing her bruises and abrasions on her face and limbs, that is, committing the crime of abuse (Article 207, paragraph 1, of the Criminal Code). – we read the description in the documents of the Public Prosecutor’s Office on sport.pl.
We probably won’t see Krzysztof J. on the field again
It is not yet known what punishment Krzysztof J. will face, but it is almost certain that this will be the end of his career as a football referee.
The Polish Football Association has not issued an official decision in J.’s case, but he is not on the list of referees authorized to officiate matches in the 2024/2025 season and unofficially it is stated that his refereeing contract will be terminated.
Polish Football Federation has more problems with referees
This is not the only recent case of “problems” with Polish football referees. A few days ago in Lublin, two other judges, Tomasz M. and Bartosz F., were under the influence of alcohol during the night and stole a traffic sign. They were detained by police and sent to a recovery station.
The following day, the two referees were due to officiate a Champions League match, but were suspended from refereeing by UEFA. In their case, the case could also result in exclusion from the profession of football referee.
