New Delhi:
Kareena Kapoor is currently gearing up for the release of her upcoming film, The Buckingham Murders. Directed by Hansal Mehta, the film tells the story of Jasmeet Bhamra aka Jassi, a police officer who investigates the death of a young man. On Tuesday, Kareena attended the trailer launch of the film where she spoke about her role in Buckingham Murders. The actor told what connected him to the role of Jassi in the film. “I believe that a mother’s love has no language. It’s a feeling. So I think as a mother I understand that a mother’s love has no particular language. It’s in her eyes – her love, her pain, you can see it in her eyes. That’s important,” Kareena shared to the media.
Kareena Kapoor added, “I think that connected me to the character… Somehow there was so much soul in this that I felt this is the right time to know this character and play it.”
The Buckingham Murders will be released in the original language (which includes English and Hindi dialogues) as well as a complete Hindi version. In an interaction, Kareena Kapoor stated that she believes that language is no longer a barrier in cinema these days. He said: “You can’t say that today because there’s song and dance in the film, so you put it in a box, which is a mass picture. If the film is good, people will watch it… He (his character Jass) lives in the UK, so when you’re there, you only speak English. So the characters who know Hindi, we speak with them in English, a different mix, and I think he’s been perfect to shoot this film and make this film with the right emotions.”
Buckingham Murders also stars Ash Tandon, Ranveer Brar and Keith Allen in lead roles. The film is bankrolled by Ektaa Kapoor and Shobha Kapoor under Balaji Telefilms and TBM Films. It is also Kareena’s debut as a producer. The Buckingham Murders opens in theaters on September 13.
