A man was killed after attacking his partner with a knife in Guaruja, on the coast of São Paulo, on Monday, May 30. According to a police report, she changed the direction of the man’s attack and caused injury to the attacker’s chest area.
The woman and her partner were both 41 years old and had been in a relationship for approximately six months, which was characterized by aggressive behaviour.

According to the woman’s report to the police, the quarrel that ended in the murder began because of jealousy on the part of the man. He allegedly attacked his female companion with a punch and then took a knife to attack her. But she managed to push his hand away, causing the knife to hit her chest.
The Mobile Emergency Care Service (SAMO) was called to the man. The case was registered at the Guaruja Police Station as attempted murder of women, murder and self-defense.
According to the newspaper “E Tribuna” in São Paulo, the man had two previous incidents of attempted murder, one in 2009 and the other in 2012.
