As RMF FM journalist Krzysztof Berenda discovered, it will take at least a few more hours to fix the massive glitch in the Ministry of Justice’s computer systems – those that handle land and mortgage records, criminal and economic records. They have been out of service for about a day now.

The systems have failed. The Departments of the Ministry of Justice do not quite know what the reason is. It is known that it was not a pirate attack. It wasn’t a system update either.

Ministerial IT specialists are now working to eliminate this failure.

We assume that by 12 all systems will be able to reboot says Karolina Wasilewska, spokeswoman for the Ministry of Justice.

Not only land and mortgage records are excluded, but also criminal and economic cases. The Ministry also does not have internal systems – e-mail and electronic document circulation.

If someone needs to check something in these records or, for example, obtain a clean criminal record certificate, they should postpone this until this afternoon or tomorrow. It is better not to go to court and try to get the certificate out the window.

The systems most likely won’t work with on-site administrators either.
