On Wednesday morning, a loud explosion woke up residents of Wola Mikorska in Łódź Voivodeship. It turned out that a gas cylinder had exploded in one of the buildings; a 52-year-old woman inside was injured.

At around 07:00 on Wednesday, residents of Wola Mikorska near Bełchatów woke up to a loud bang.

As told to PAP by the spokesman for the Commander of the Łódź Province State Fire Service, Brigadier General Jędrzej Pawlak, firefighters arrived at the scene and determined that a gas cylinder exploded in a 5 x 6 meter tin house.

A 52-year-old woman inside was injured and taken to hospital.

Five fire brigade units participated in the fire extinguishing operation. The fire situation is under control.
