A human trafficking suspect dies in a confrontation with police in Cosme de Farias

The Homicide and Personal Protection Department (DHPP) is investigating the case –

A man suspected of involvement in drug trafficking died after a confrontation with the military police, last Monday night 30. The case occurred on Enginheiro Hamilton Street, in the Cosme de Farias neighborhood, in El Salvador.

According to the Civil Police, officers from Rondispe Atlántico reported that the garrison was patrolling the site known as Campo Velho to investigate reports of armed men being smuggled in the area, when they were surprised by gunfire from a group.

A confrontation took place and one of the suspects was injured. He was rescued by the army at the State General Hospital, where the man died of his wounds.

A handgun, ammunition, 119 pieces of cocaine, 50 pieces of crack, 167 pieces of marijuana, 18 pieces of MDMA, 53 pieces of marijuana, and cash were found in his possession. All seized materials were presented to the Public Security Directorate to take appropriate measures.
