Social Pension Law is currently being changed. Parliamentary Committee on Social Policy and Family in July 2024 gave a positive opinion about the project he is planning payment of a supplementary allowance In value of PLN 2,520. According to the citizenship project, the subsidy will be granted to those who are entitled social pensionthat are incapable of independent existence.
Citizens’ Bill on Social Pension
The creators of the civic project on social pensions hope that the amended law will come into force from January 2025. The value of the supplementary allowance results from the difference between the value of the minimum remuneration for work determined on the basis of the specific regulation of the day December 31, 2024 – PLN 4,300 and the quantity the lowest pension for total incapacity for work. The final form of the act is not yet known because the act is in progress.
Supplementary supplement to social pension
Amended law on social pension assume that the complement of z ZUSpaid together with the social pension, will constitute the lowest salary amount. The project also states that:
- the subsidy will be indexed annually.
- the subsidy will not be included in social assistance.
- the subsidy will be available to people unable to work and live independently.
- the subsidy will be granted upon submission of the application, without any further judgment.
In addition, the supplementary benefit in amount of PLN 500 will not be removed, but rather changed – the criterion will likely be applied. Lawmakers also announced abolition of the pension trap.
Who is entitled to a social pension?
Social pension is granted at the request of the interested party or his/her legal representative. The request cannot be submitted earlier than one month before reaching the age of majority. An adult is not considered only a person who: is over 18 years old. Benefit can be received by adults who forensic doctor or medical commissionZUS he will say total inability to work due to compromised body efficiency.
Second reading of the draft law on social pensions
Second reading of the citizens’ draft on social pensions scheduled for the next session of the Sejm in September 11th to 13th this year. The second reading includes the possibility for deputies to present, Council of Ministers or proposers of additional amendments to the submitted report. If amendments and proposals are tabled at second reading on which the committee has not previously expressed an opinion, the bill will be referred back to this committee for consideration of new proposals. The Committee will then assess the proposals and conclusions presented during the second reading of the bill with the participation of its authors and will prepare an additional report. Then Sejm voting will begin and this will be the third reading of the project.
