A 62-year-old man was found dead in a residence located on Rua das Bananeiras, in the center of Penedo, this Friday morning (18).
According to the fire department, neighbors noticed a strong odor coming from the residence and the elderly man was unresponsive to family members who called him to the door of the property.
A team was called and managed to enter the house, declaring the elderly man dead at the scene. There is no information on the cause of death, which is to be determined after an autopsy by the Institute of Forensic Medicine (IML).
“After checking the situation in the area, isolation procedures were carried out in accordance with security protocols. The scene was left under the responsibility of the Alagoas Military Police Garrison (PMAL), which will continue the relevant investigations,” the fire department said.
