President Lula began his agenda in El Salvador early this Thursday (17). Along with Governor Geronimo Rodriguez, he gave interviews before the ceremony announcing the expansion of the Pé-de-Meia program in Bahia. Other officials in attendance included Education Minister Camilo Santana, as well as First Ladies Gianna Silva and Tatiana Veloso.

During the event, the criteria and forms for access and persistence in the program were informedaimed at public high school students with families registered in the Federal Government’s Unified Register of Social Programs, CadÚnico. Launched in November, the savings plan aims to encourage school retention and completion for beneficiaries by promoting social mobility.

Salvador is the second stop in a series of trips for Lula this week. The President passed this Wednesday (16) through Natal, in the Rio Grande do Norte, and from this Friday (18) will head to Sao Paulo and Diadema, in the metropolitan region of the capital of Sao Paulo, where they will participate in allied campaign actions, who will compete in the second round.
