On Tuesday, Germany asked the European Commission to be able to belatedly present the medium-term structural budget plan envisaged by the new Stability Pact. A deadline has yet to be set after yesterday dpa revealed from German finance ministry sources that Berlin is surprisingly considering asking for an extension of the spending plan from 4 to 7 years. As far as we understand, France remains on track to be able to introduce the PSB by the end of October as agreed. The deadline for all was originally September 20, and for most it was extended to October 15.
