The end of the strike in State University of Bahia (UNEB) It was approved this Wednesday, the 16th, during a general meeting held by the teachers of the institution. The termination was approved with 91 votes in favor, 17 against and 10 abstentions.
A UNEB strike completed 20 days. The main demand of the category from the state government was more increase in wages. In the last meeting, the state government’s 13.83% salary hike proposal was not accepted by the teachers in the institution. However, this Wednesday the teachers had second thoughts and preferred to accept and end the strike.

Previously, the correction proposed by the government was approved by the teachers’ associations of other public higher institutions, such as the State University of Southwest Bahia (UESB), the State University of Feira de Santana (UEFS) and the State University of Santa Cruz (UESC).
