Volunteers can be present from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Blood Collection and Transfusion Unit, next to Carvalho Beltrão Hospital
The traveling team from Hemocentro de Alagoas (Hemoal) will collect blood in the municipality of Coruripe this Thursday (17). The action will take place from 9 am to 4 pm in the Collection and Transfusion Unit (UCT), next to Carvalho Beltrão Hospital, in the Centro district.
To donate blood, according to the Ministry of Health (MOH), a volunteer must be in good health, between the ages of 16 and 69 and weigh 50 kilograms or more. When donating, the applicant must present an official and original photo ID, and if he is a minor, he must be accompanied by a legal representative.
Candidates also cannot have consumed alcoholic beverages in the last 12 hours before the donation, as well as fatty foods. Regarding volunteers who have had piercings, tattoos, permanent makeup or micropigmentation, blood donation is prohibited for one year.
As for candidates affected by Chagas disease, AIDS and syphilis, they cannot undergo the procedure, as well as those who have had hepatitis after the age of 11. Women can donate blood normally as long as they are not pregnant or breastfeeding.
