Women, especially those who voted for PSL candidates on October 15, are left reeling when they hear the People’s Party explain today that they did not promise anyone the liberalization of abortion law. It was with the votes of the conservatives of the PSL that the bill to abolish penalties for assisted abortion was recently defeated. The party leader, Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, today pretends to be a conservative, although on November 11 he signed a coalition agreement that included the promise to strengthen women’s rights, to annul the 2020 Constitutional Court ruling, and even that “women have the right to decide for themselves.” How much feline energy is wasted here…
However, nothing will defeat the newly formed opposition of PiS and Sovereign Poland, for whom taking on this new role is sometimes like being born again, with no memory of the past eight years. A kitten would probably fill a small house when MP Mariusz Gosek brushed off questions about whether the more than 800 government picnics were illegally supporting the election campaign: “What, would you like to take away the inflatables and the candy floss from the children?”
