Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 appears on Geekbench

The Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 is scheduled to launch in October this year, and rumors suggest that the Xiaomi 15-series will be the first to use Qualcomm’s 2025 flagship SoC, while other reports claim that it will offer exceptional GPU performance.

Now we have the first Geekbench results from a device that appears to be the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4. The test has ended 8840 points in multi-core scenario and 2884 points in the single-core test. We don’t know what the GPU performance is yet, but the CPU jump from the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 is almost 30% in the multi-core test and 35% in the single-core test. We used the Xiaomi 14 as a reference, which scored 6810 points in the multi-core test and 2125 points in the single-core test.

There’s a chance the performance boost for the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 will be even greater, as early benchmarks are often conducted on pre-production units that still need some fine-tuning.

The rumor is that Qualcomm is using the Nuvia’s internal CPU architecture for its CPU clusters, and the configuration is 2+6. The main dual-core cluster is clocked at a whopping 4.09 GHz, while the more efficient six-core cluster is clocked at 2.78 GHz. The GPU is the Adreno 830, and the entire chip is manufactured on TSMC’s 3nm process.
