On Saturday afternoon, a traffic accident occurred at the intersection of Monschauer Strasse and Schleidener Strasse, causing a major traffic jam.
According to police, a driver coming from the Eifel on Schleidener Strasse wanted to turn left onto Monschauer Strasse at around 3:15 p.m. He ignored a bus and the two vehicles collided at the intersection.
The first witness reported that about twenty people were injured, which is why officers initially arrived in large numbers. Two people were actually injured.
The accident investigation was still ongoing as of 17:10. The area where the turn from Monschauer Straße to Schleidener Straße was closed.
