On Sunday, an 84-year-old woman in a wheelchair fell into the Hanfbach in Hennef and was seriously injured. The Rhein-Sieg district police reported this on Sunday evening.

According to the initial findings of the officers, the 84-year-old woman was riding her electric wheelchair on Hennef-Hanfmühle towards Am Heidegraben street. Her 80-year-old husband, who also uses a wheelchair, accompanied her. At a crossroads, the elderly citizen got lost for unknown reasons and fell into the Hanfbach.

Emergency services from the Hennef fire department rescued the 84-year-old from the river. Emergency services initially treated her at the scene. An ambulance then took the seriously injured elderly woman to hospital, according to police.
