Review: AGM H6. Affordable, solid phone with IP69K, IP68 and MIL-STD-810H

Introduction

Are you looking for a sturdy phone for not too much money? Then the AGM H6 might be an option. You can purchase it for 260 euros. For that money you get specifications that seem simple at first glance, with a housing that can take a beating. The device is not lightweight; it weighs 240 grams. In terms of weight, the AGM H6 is therefore less attractive than the lighter devices we have looked at recently. However, it offers a number of other things that may still make it interesting for some target groups.

Looking through the specifications, the AGM appears to have an IP69K certification. This means that it is dust and moisture proof. It can also withstand high-pressure water jets, which can even be hot. This would allow you to use the device in an industrial environment. IP69K is supplemented with IP68; so it is also waterproof. To complete the list, the device has a MIL-STD-810H certification, which means it can take a beating. These types of specifications make the phone interesting for couriers and other people who work outside a lot.

The design of the H6 is functional and certainly not sexy. To make the device water and dustproof, AGM has chosen to seal the connections. If you want to connect a USB-C cable or wired headset, you must first open the connection openings.
Charging the device is not very fast; it takes about two hours before the 4900mAh battery is full. In our test with PCMark for Android Work 3.0, the device lasts 13.5 hours on a battery charge. That is an hour longer than average.
