FSP is working on a 2,500-watt power supply with four PCIe 12V-2×6 plugs

With the end of the year approaching, Geeknetic has had the opportunity to take a look at the products that FSP has planned for 2024. The eye-catcher is the new Cannon Pro, a power supply that combines a capacity of no less than 2,500 watts with 80 Plus Platinum and ATX 3.1 certification.

This modular psu comes with four pcie 12v-2×6 cables, the updated version of 12vhpwr. This should enable it to provide four RTX 4090s with sufficient power. There are another three PCIe 6+2 plugs available for other expansion cards. In addition to the standard cable for the motherboard, FSP provides three 4+4-pin processors, as well as 14 SATA and six Molex connections.

The Cannon Pro has a single 12V rail and is cooled by an ‘intelligent’ 135mm fan. The 80 Plus Platinum certification indicates an efficiency of at least 92%, the idle consumption is said to be less than 0.5 watts. Furthermore, the usual security circuits are included, including OPP, OVP, UVP, SCP, OCP and OTP.
