Telefónica will respond this Monday to the demands of the unions to improve the ERE

Telefónica will predictably communicate this Monday to the unions its response to the demands they have made to significantly improve the latest conditions proposed for the Employment Regulation File (ERE).

Management and worker representatives will hold this Monday the fifth meeting of the ERE negotiating tables in the three subsidiaries affected by the collective dismissal (Telefónica España, Móviles and Soluciones).

According to sources in the negotiation that informed Servimedia, the company will most likely offer improvements with respect to its latest proposal , in which it has already agreed to reduce the number of affected workers by nearly a thousand compared to the initial plan, from the 5,124 that it initially announced to 3,959 . However, unions still find this figure excessive.

In addition, Telefónica will respond to the union demand that the departures are not forced but voluntary and universal, including personnel in critical areas.

Regarding the benefits that would be established in the ERE, the unions demand a “substantial” improvement in the proposed income, Social Security coverage and risk and health insurance.

UGT warned in the statement that if “significant progress” is not achieved this coming week, “it will be difficult to reach an agreement.”

The calendar of one month of negotiations initially sets January 4 as the deadline to reach an agreement.
