A 16-year-old teenager, identified as Kauan Sacramento Santos, died after an armed confrontation with the Military Police, in Feira de Santana. The incident occurred last Sunday (6), on Artêmia Pires Avenue, and the young man was transferred to the Clériston Andrade General Hospital, where he died on Monday (7).

According to the Civil Police, Kauan was suspected of being involved in criminal acts related to attempted murder, resisting arrest and illegal possession of a firearm. At the time of the confrontation, the teenager was accompanied by three other armed men, who shot at people who were on the avenue.
A military police officer, present at the scene, ordered the group to stop shooting, but the order was ignored and the suspects attacked the officer. In the midst of the shooting, two men managed to escape on a motorcycle, while Kauan and another suspect tried to escape, triggering a new confrontation.
During this second exchange of fire, the young man was shot. The other three men involved remain at large and police continue to investigate the case.
